I take 2mg sandrema gel daily and utrogestron 200mg days 15-26. As my bleed was all over the place and hard to pin point day 15 my GP suggested sticking to always starting the utrogetron on the same date each month which I now do, but I have noticed more and more that I get my period before I start taking the utrogestron and this time for the first time I had a period before taking it (fairly light and brownish) and then another bleed again brownish during the pill taking phase. Shouldn't I just be getting a bleed post utrogestron if im following the same routine each month? should I be worried by this lingering brownish bleed rather than a fish red bleed (sorry TMI1! )

when this happens it is usually because you are still in peri and having your own periods. HRT can reset the cycle but it doesn't always happen straight away or for some months. The starting Utrogestan on the same day each month is good advice and my consultant says that too. I think you need to go along with what you are doing.

How old are you and had your periods stopped or almost stopped prior to hrt?

I’m 51, periods we’re just erratic sometimes 21 days sometimes 6 weeks but blood tests showed peri and other symptoms did too, sounds like nothing to worry about which is a relief Thks
