HRT

I was still having periods but menopause symptoms. I was on HRT for over a year (tablets) and changed to gel + utrogestan in April. First advised to take 2 pumps gel + 100 progesterone for 7 days (withdrawal bleed first cycle then no bleed in second or third), then advised by doc to go for 200 progesterone for 7 days (= no bleed), so advised to use progesterone for 12 days. I started bleeding last month on day 9 of taking progesterone. This month I have started bleeding on the day before starting to take the progesterone. I am worried about this - any advice?

It's quite common. You need to keep going even when you bleed early- I asked my dr the same thing (he's a top consultant) and was told that. I have found however that using it vaginally I have never bled early and usually on day 3 after the last capsule.

The dose is 10-12 days per cycle so 7 is not enough unless a consultant suggests that off licence.

The reason for your bleed before taking any thing time is probably your own cycle kicking in- a natural period.
