How can I ensure I can get Evorel rather than Estraderm patches at the chemist? I’ve always had Evorel until recently after I got a large supply from Spain. The Estraderm don’t stick properly and I’m getting hot flushes again. The little shit at our local chemist who was absolutely determined to patronise me and to be unhelpful said Evorel are not available and all he has to do is supply any patch. What do I do? Change to a more cooperative chemist?

I had the Dr specify Evorel on the prescription.

Like you, the alternative the chemist supplied caused me to have hot flushes and also increased anxiety I suffered pre HRT.

There are 4 pharmacists in my local town - none of them can get supplies of Evorel. I drive several miles to a Boots with a pharmacy because, although there may be a little wait for them to order them in, they can always get my patches. If I had to drive 40 miles to find a boots chemist to get the right patches I would because the alternative are nowhere near as effective.

Yes @Pinkshrimp I think you're right. I will ask the gp if she is happy to prescribe by brand. I know they come under huge pressure to prescribe generically though and not all are happy to do that.
In the meantime I've asked dh's colleague overseas to see if he can get some. He got me a year's supply before. It's actually cheaper to have it sent overseas than pay a UK prescription charge every three months.
I spent twelve years working in the pharmaceutical industry following research and uni so I was utterly pissed off at being talked down to the other day. Anyway its not worth fighting with him as I pick up shielding people's prescriptions from there. However I will take my business elsewhere from now on.
