Feeling hot all the time

I'm 47, still having regular periods, but suspect that I may be close to the menopause. I've noticed that I seem to feel hot neatly all the time, and I basically only feel comfortable in temperatures of less than 20⁰C. However, I don't experience hot flushes in the sense of waves of heat that only last for a few minutes. Is this "running hot" likely to be hormonal, or just a side effect of being overweight? I also get night sweats the week before my period, but not much at other times.

Yes I "run hot" - I'm always opening windows and turn of the heating down, can't bear to wear jumpers or warm clothes. I do also get hot flushes but having a high body temp is definitely a thing. Loose cotton clothing is your friend. I also find taking menopace helps.

I came on here to see if there was a post like this and you describe exactly how I feel! I just feel warm all the time, no hot flashes, just a sort of overheated feel. I'm 49 and was regular as clockwork until last month - two periods in one month and this month almost a week late. So what with my age I'm sure is perimenopausal. But I'm looking forward to the temperature dropping later this week!

@tinkywinkyshandbag thanks for the tip, I've seen menopause in the shops - I'll try it.

Me too. I am 48 and just feel hot all the time. Meet for a hike with my family in wind and rain. They were wearing knitted jumpers and parkas and I was in my t shirt and wanted to take that off too😂

After a lifetime of always feeling the cold, my head suddenly feels hot All The Time. Nightsweats too, broken sleep, can't sleep, periods between 24 and 35 days.

Fucking joy!

I’m 54 now and still have cooking days as I call them no jumpers at all now t shirts if I need warmth in winter it’s scarves.then I can coat open I hate feeling closed in unless it’s bitter.last heatwave was horrific for me, I dripped it seemed all the time.

Here too! I don't seem to have hot flushes as such but temp just going up and down... but even my lower temp now is much higher than I have ever known it (and was someone who was always cold before). Can't wear jumpers as overheat in them so shirts and thin cotton vests it seems for a bit..

Late to the thread but this was my main symptom. No flushes just a general rise in body temperature. I'm overheating in a t-shirt when everyone around me is wrapped up warm. Like a previous poster I found that Menopace seemed to help.
