Ongoing bleeding - menopause

I'm 44 and I think just starting menopause. I have a Mirena coil which has been in place for 2 years without any problems. Over the last couple of cycles my 'periods' have gone from 4.5 weeks apart and 4 days of light bleeding to 3 weeks apart if that. I'm now on day 9 of continuous (admittedly light) but ongoing bleeding so I'm having to wear a pad each day.

Is this a normal thing or should I try and speak to a GP?
