Brittle nails and hairloss

Peri seems to be affecting my hair and nails Sad

Anyone had the same problem and fixed it?

Considering scalp massage, almond oil and dietary things rather than hormones at the momentSmile

Biotin tablets and Plantur shampoo and conditioner have improved my nails and hair.

I'd put the brittle nails down to hand sanitizer. They were awful in feb/March, got better through lockdown (when I wasn't using any as I wasn't touching anything outside my home) and are turning to shit again now🤷‍♀️

Are you taking any supplements? I started taking a multi-vitamin (Centrum women 50+) and zinc and magnesium, during the menopause. I also take vitamin D and calcium but less often.

Thank you for replies so far, I would love it to be hand sanitizer but it is also my toe nails Grin

I do not take any supplements but I am open to suggestions!

I wonder whether I need to enhance my diet to help out.

I started taking Biotin and VitD a few years ago and it has made a difference to my hair which was becoming very thin with a lot of hair loss.

I had brittle nails (but no issues with my hair) which were fixed by eating jelly a couple of times a week. The gelatin it contains seems to do the trick.

I still have a 12yo who likes jelly, which helps. And nicer than supplements. Smile

Biotin
Vit D

Jelly

Thanks

I will investigate these 😊

Same here, my hair is awful, really thin at hairline and I’m so self conscious

Will investigate biotin

Nails also pretty rubbish too... do you eat jelly cubes or at the made jelly? Daft question I know!

PourMeADrink · 02/09/2020 16:04

I was sceptical about supplements as I used to think why would I need them if I ate well and was healthy but honestly taking Biotin and VitD has made a big difference to my hair.

dingledongle · 02/09/2020 16:26

Is there a particular brand you have tried pourmeadrink?

Feel free to PM me if you would rather.

What is it in jelly? Gelatin?

Thanks again

Not at home at the moment and can't remember the company but I don't really go for any company in particular. It's just whatever they have on the shelf in the pharmacy.

Thanks 😊
