Patches slapped on

Just coming to the end of the first two weeks of round 1 of HRT patches (Everel Sequi) and I can honestly say I now completely understand the reports I read a while back of women travelling to Europe to get them when there was a shortage!

I feel 10 years younger (I'm 46), hot flushes have almost entirely gone, sleeping much better, paranoia has subsided about 85%, have more energy, feel lighter.

So what happens during the second lot? It's the progestogen's turn next week isn't it?

I have no idea how long I want to take HRT for I want to feel like this, you know 10 years younger and not loopy-loo, with it but that's never going to happen again is it? Stupid hormones.

For me the firs two weeks are great. Then I start the next type of patch and it goes downhill. My husband says he knows as soon as I start the, as I am snipey and picky. I get horrid upsetting dreams too.
Im hoping to get advice about how this could be improved.

@Twospaniels I have had week 1 of second patches and it's not quite as much fun as the other patches, I seem emotionally numb, not quite entirely but just sort of flatlined. And libido has tanked but will battle through that.

Overall it's still better than no HRT. But it's only my first month guess I need to see what round 2 of patches 1 brings.

@frozendaisy
Why can’t we have the first type all the time? 😁
I’m on wk 4 now and just started bleeding so really not feeling fab at all. Looking forward to getting back on the first type 😍

@Twospaniels she can't have the first patch all the way through as it is oestrogen only and the second part of the cycle you take progesterone too.
I have exactly the same, great during oestrogen phase, not great during progesterone phase. Insomnia and yes, numb feelings and definitely no libido. Wasn't quite sure the numbness was a symptom but now you've mentioned it, maybe it is for me too!

@Twospaniels apologies, I didn't read your post properly, you weren't asking that at all

@ramesesmaze
It was said tongue in cheek, hence the emoji at the end. I know we can’t have the first type right through

I am attempting to reach my peace with second lot of patches, I have re-established my exercise routine (that also tanked before HRT got involved) and have a cupboard full of supplements and some good literature.

Still think it's better than no HRT.

You could try a different type of progesterone maybe? A gel?
