Still having hot flushes

I started having awful hot flushes at 45 and I've been on HRT ever since, I'm 58 and I was on kliovance, lowest dose they make and all was well.
I decided I must be over it all by now and I've been off kliovance for 2 months. After a week all of the hot flushes came back, I have been literally dripping with waves of nasty flushes that seem to start from the feet and go upwards.
I've gone back on HRT this morning, I can't cope with it at all.
Surely they should have stopped by now. This is ridiculous!! When are they going to stop.

There is no time scale. Some women never stop.
My mum had them in her 80s.

She asked for HRT aged 60+ and then ( 30 years ago) no dr would give it to her.

There are three top UK meno specialists describing they have women in their late 80s and 90s on HRT because they don't want to / can't stop.

Well I'm back on a very low dose now of oestrogen only which keeps the hot flushes at bay but as soon as I dtop even this tiny dose I only have to exert myself a tiny bit and I'm sweating like a beast. There is no way I coming off them again, they can prise them out of my cold, dead hands.

Why are you using estrogen only? Has this been prescribed that way?
