Any treatments that work?
I'm actually considering for the first time to have a Keratin Brazilian hair straightening treatment. Fear it'll cause more long term damage.

But my hair is not just bone dry and wiry, it's suddenly turned curly. It's vile.

Anyone have treatment at a salon?
I've bought tons of serums, conditioners, masks, silk pillow, etc. Even installed a water softener! No impact

Thank you

I had this, and I recommend Elasticizer by Philip Kingsley. It is a pre conditioner, I dampen my hair, slather it on, dry my hair and then leave it in as long as possible, mostly over night. Then wash out the next morning.

QVC often have it in 1litre size, with lovely fragrances. I’m currently using Rose and Lychee.

I completely restored my hair by using it every day on my last relaxing hot holiday using the early morning sun to dry it. Leaving it in as long as possible. Washing it out. Repeat next day. Ten days of that and now I just use it once every week or two.

I have recently gone from dark to blonde and my hair has coped admirably, I’m sure its down to Elasticizer.
Do not use it for one week either side of colouring your hair.

Come back and let me know what you think of it. It was the change in the texture of my hair that upset me the most, from shiny, soft, straight to rough, fluffy, wiry.
Good luck!

You can get a home Brazilian blow dry kit from Amazon that works well. You do have to get the salt-free shampoo and conditioner to maintain it, but it takes years off.

This is me. 😡
I hate it, for a woman hair is everything
I tried numerous different shampoo & condition, but my hair is quite fine and straight but FIZZY ends!! They stick out when dry. Even asked hairdresser if it was split ends/ breakage NO

I’ve had keratin straighting a few years back
It was ok, but didn’t last and not worth £200

I even use straightens after blowing plus moisturiser cream for the ends
It’s hormones!!!!

I was gonna buy viviscal tablets, tried the shampoo no change!
I’ve give up, until the next hair wash day then think aghhhhh wtf

Will try Philip

In my experience Japanese hair straightening or ‘bonding’ treatments are better for thick hair (ie thick strands) while brazillian blow dries are better for fine caucasian hair.

Will do StarintheMorning.
Thank you everyone.
Such a nightmare especially when it rains!
