I'm definitely in perimenopause - have erratic cycles (never missed one but the length of cycle can be anything between 18 days and 42, though those are extreme outliers), lots of pelvic tenderness and hip pain around ovulation, periods of night sweats, months where my boobs are tender or sore like I'm pregnant, periods of palpitations, some erratic spotting for which I've been investigated, hairier, crosser, tireder and a bit low. Taking Menopace tablets for now, have been talking to GPs about HRT for a while now and plan to get pushier with that soon.
In the meantime ... sometimes my cycle will just give me one that's Odd. Light (I use a Mooncup so I can see what's what) but normal-looking, but really RANK to smell! Like a steak left in the fridge for too long. After it's finished, I'll get clear discharge (getting some clear or slightly stained discharge for a few days after bleeding is normal for me) that also reeks. It's really bad this month and I started to wonder if I'm putting up with something that actually needs attention? Could it be BV? But it comes and goes. Most cycles don't do this. It smells really nasty.
Anyone else get the odd smelly period?
