Depression or peri?

I’m 48. I think I’m peri menopausal. Periods all over the place, bloated, mood swings, hot sweats at night etc. But I’m also in a really low mood - anxious and crying. I’ve suffered from depression in the past and I’m worried that I’m going back to that place. Is this likely to be connected to menopause?

Probably menopause. I’m the same age as you and symptoms started a couple of years ago with me. My periods stopped abruptly and a few months later started getting one symptom after another.

I am in peri, hopefully starting hrt patches once cycle starts again probably next weekend fingers crossed.

I have been unusually paranoid, sad, generally feeling insane,or not of my usual mind should I phrase it more accurately.

But who knows if it's hormonal or if it can be "fixed". I am trying to ride through it have started a journal of sorts to write down all my insane babble to see if I can compartmentalize some of it.

So yes possibly peri, and you are not alone.

What is the best help for the menopause I’m low in my mood no energy to do anything , don’t sleep properly. The sweats have nearly stopped the bloating is worse than ever my joints ache now don’t know if there’s a vitamin I should be on I’ve been menopausal for 4 years now. I would be really grateful for some advice please

@Mayalola NICE guidance pinned at the top of this page, says HRT is the treatment for low mood.
