Peri menopause and Evorel Sequi - when will it help?!

Hi, I started Evorel Sequi 5 weeks ago and up until now I haven’t noticed any changes. Infact, if anything I am feeling worse. Very anxious, panicky, teary, low, so so exhausted and each day I just wonder how I am going to get through the day! I had these symptoms before starting HRT but I was hoping that they may have improved by now. Does it take a while for them to work and for my body to get used to all the hormones? Here’s hoping someone can give me some hope! I just want all this to go away and feel like me again.

Are you changing the patches on the correct day?

RainbowRaine · 30/07/2020 11:16

I feel worse on the 2nd lot of Evorel Patches but then I start the 50 patches again and I'm fine.

Yeah, I have the Evorel 50 patches on the first 2 weeks (Wed and Sat) and then swap to the other patches for the second 2 weeks. I just feel so wiped out all the time, v low and well up with tears at so many things (its just not like me!) and just feel so panicky...

I would go back to GP just incase the Sequi is not working for you. Within a week of me starting the Sequi most my symptoms had gone.

You are probably reacting to the progesterone in the 2nd week of patches- the hormone we have naturally after ovulation, half way through a month.

This is really common but you might find a) it settles down and the advice is give any hrt 3 months or b) swap to another type with a different progesterone.

That could be

1Femoston (tablets)
2Utrogestan (capsules but natural progesterone)
3Mirena coil

If you had either 2 or 3 above you would use estrogen only as a patch, gel or tablet.

I'm finding I'm worse in the progesterone weeks and better in the estrogen only weeks. I'd give it until the end of these 4 weeks then speak to your gp

Thanks for all your advice. I’ll maybe give this second month a go and see how I feel. I’ve also been spotting for 10 days now. I think my body is in a bit of turmoil with the rush of all these hormones!
It probably doesn’t help that I have been away from home and my family for 3 weeks (came to look after my mum who had an op on Tues)...so will see once I go back home on Sunday how things do as well. I appreciate the time in you replying to me. Thanks.
