Is it ok to do another reloading dose of vaginal estrogen?

Been on Ovestin a couple of years (see previous longwinded posts!) which has really helped bladder/urethra. Had a flare up about a year ago when Ovestin just seemed to be irritating me, so switched to vagifem for a couple of months, then back to Ovestin. All has been fine til last week when my urethra became really sore and sensitive again 😩 Driving me nuts! I've probably not been very strict about the twice a week dose, and estrogen levels are probably in my boots. Have had a three day course of antiBs just in case.

So I'm wondering if I should just reload on the estrogen cream? I have some vagifem left over so thought I could use that nightly for at least a week and the usual Ovestin as much as my bits can tolerate (everything feels really irritated so I'm reluctant to rub cream in!).

Can anyone advise if this seems like a good plan?
Thankyou...

I've done this with Vagifem more than once.

Yes you can. Some gynaes also recommend more than twice a week maintenance dose. You may also need systemic HRT.

Thank you both👍
I'm trying to delay systemic HRT as long as possible, my other symptoms are manageable at the moment. My urethra seems to be taking the entire brunt of menopause 😠 I've had to pee about five times since I wrote the initial post so I think I am convinced reloading is the only way to go.

I’ve been on Vagifem for nearly 5 years and use it every day. I’ve been on HRT for nearly 3 years.

@JosephineDeBeauharnais thanks, good to know. I'm annoyed to think if I'd just been on a more frequent dose, this wouldn't have happened.

Vagifem stoped working for me after a year or so, despite getting to the point of using almost daily.
Irritated bladder was more or less my only sign of menopause. I still had regular periods etc.
Now I'm on Oestrogen daily and my bladder is better.
