Can feeling nauseous and headachey be part of menopause?

I'm 50 and haven't had a period since March.

For the past couple of days I've felt like I've been run ver by a bus.

A bit like a migraine but not quite.

Is this the beginning of the menopause ?

I'm not sure but i've felt this way since peri and it's really rubbish (a few years). If it's new for you then you might just be a bit under the weather and it'll pass soon?

It could be, it's all so confusing isn't it.

I've been peri for 7 years fgs.. This month TMI nipples so itchy.. I cannot wait for af to sod off.

flowerpots I'm really hoping that's all it is!

How do o know it's peri or the real menopause?

@BaconAndAvocado I just came on here to ask the exact same question. I'm 49 and since January I have found that I get horrible headaches on what would be the first or second day of my cycle (I had a uterine ablation a couple of years ago so I don't get a period but I do get a barely-there spot of blood each month). My cycles have varied between 21 and 35 days over the last 6 months, with this last cycle being the shortest. I have had a hangover type headache for the last 4 days and nausea that feels like morning sickness. Having consulted Dr Google, it seems that some women do experience headaches & nausea during the menopause - as they might with any significant hormone shift eg pregnancy. With the menopause it is related to the decrease in progesterone on day 1 of your cycle. If I have understood correctly, despite not having a period your body still maintains a cycle of sorts with ebb & flow of hormones.

Sorry, meant to ask...are you still getting any other cycle-related symptoms? eg breast tenderness, insomnia etc?

I have also had really marked hot flushes over the last few days along with these headaches & nausea. Prior to this, I only experienced hot flushes during the last few days of my cycle and usually at night.

Well after 2 days of a constant headache and nausea my period arrived. And back with a vengeance it is!

I've never had period pains like it, abdominal.

I got up about 3 times last night - to get paracetamol, make up a hot water bottle and to get more water. It was awful! The worst period I've ever had in my life.
Very heavy too, I'm still heavy now and having some cramps.

I hope this its not going to be like this every month!!!

Edina no hot flushes (as yet) but as mentioned above I did find it hard getting to sleep last night but I put that down to the pain I was in.

Yes, I too consulted with Dr Google......bloody hormones! DDis starting to go through puberty too. Good times Smile
