How will I know I've hit menopause?

I am on cerazette and have been for over 10 years now, to help with heavy painful period s. I haven't had a period since I started taking them and am now 51.

I'm pretty sure something is happening,I have gained weight that I just cannot lose, got terrible memory issues, cannot regulate my temperature I'm either freezing cold or having hot flashes, nothing in between. Feeling anxious & depressed.

Anyone been thru this? How will I know when I've got thru menopause and can stop s taking cerazette?

Sounds about right. I went into the menopause medically due to hysterectomy at 40 and have suffered (and still am!) from all of the above.
Hot flushes I expected but the weight gain, memory loss and the anxiety have been the worst symptoms for me, ones that I didn’t expect.

You'll know. I went stark raving mad. Back to normal now.

@YorkshireParentalPersonI think there are 2 issues her-e - when to stop birth control and when you are post menopause.

No one is ever 'through' menopause.
Post menopause is a permanent state.

It lasts forever and although some things like flushes may go after a few years, some women have them for 10, 15 or 25 years or forever. I know of 3 specialists who have women aged 90 on HRT.

You won't know if your periods are over unless you stop the mini pill and see if your periods start.

At 51 the rule is you keep up contraception for a year after a final period and can stop at 54 if you don't know when your last period was.

Best thing is to consider swapping the mini pill for HRT to get rid of all the symptoms you are suffering from. They are all classic peri meno things - flushes, weight gain, anxiety, etc.
