I'm 43. Can it happen in peri menopause too?

Of course not. Try not to panic. Flowers

ghostmous3 · 10/06/2020 15:14

I'm panicking like mad . I've had non stop bleeding for a month..had no problems prior to this.

I do have terrible health anxiety though which really doesn't help

It is most often a sign of irregular ovulation / periods.

ghostmous3 · 10/06/2020 15:21

I've always been totally regular up to now

Well I was coming on for a few years every 24 days or so then it got later..was a week late last month.

No. I had that at beginning of menopause. No cancer.

JinglingHellsBells · 10/06/2020 19:35

No, of course not @ghostmous3. It's incredibly common to get hyperplasia as it's called and TBH most drs would not refer someone of your age for a thick lining when in peri. Depending on the stage of a cycle, all linings can be thick until a period occurs. As a PP says, thick during peri is usually down to hormones- not enough progesterone and the lining thickens. Honestly- stop worrying.

ghostmous3 · 10/06/2020 19:44

Thank you.
I think they are worried because of the amount of bleeding I've had since may 11th it's literally been everyday bar a couple of days where it stopped then started again.

I'm not sure if I am in peri or not to be honest

@ghostmous3 I have had thickened lining plus excessive bleeding twice. Two biopsies showed fibroids but no cancer. Mirena coil has stopped the bleeding now, maybe you could try that? They put mine in during the second biopsy.

Did you get any answers to all
of this @ghostmous3 ? I’ve been bleeding on and off for a while - quite heavy and clots - and was referred for ultrasound. The rather horrible woman who did it told me my lining was thick. I’m now worried sick. I’m 45.
