Hi I am on estrogel pump and utrogestan 200mg caps. I have only started HRT so its all new to me.

I am 47 and perimenopause where i still egt a period but not everymonth but most month or maybe 2 week late its hit n miss. I had the flushes but they have recently subsided to along with the insominia. I hate the feeling of depression i get when ovulating and basically from ovulation till my period actually comes. I feel that most of my month is based around having 1 good week after my period of feeling awake alive and happy soooo after speaking with my doc hrt seems to be the best route.

My question is i am using the estrogel on my legs tday i changed to my arms. I am getting awful tension stress jitters I dont know what words to use but its in my legs. I am feeling slightly anxious and feel like im medicated i guess. any tips on how I should feel and if this will settle.

Thanks so much

I haven't used estrogel, but I am on HRT. I know if my estrogen levels dip I get terrible anxiety and restless legs syndrome at night - could it be something like that?

Are you sure you are getting enough of the gel absorbed by putting it on your arms? I thought transdermal HRT was best used on a fatty part of body such as thighs?

It shouldn't make much difference where you use it.
I swap around from inner thighs to upper arms.

It can take a while to adjust.

My advice is you start with 1 pump only and after 2-3 weeks increase to 1 and bit (just don't push the plunger right down) then go up to 2 pumps after another couple of weeks.

Gives your body time to adjust to it.

Thats interesting divoc2020. I thought it was supposed to go on the arm between elbow to wrist so maybe i am placing it in the wrong area.

thank you everyone for taking the time to reply :)

@bonnybaby I was advised to start low and build up. The arm thing- it's upper arms so from shoulder to elbow.
Keep it away from your breasts, so don't apply braless when it might get on them.

Is there a leaflet in your pack? Some show the areas where it's applied.

Thanks jinglinghellsbells. I actually read the thighs alright n the arms but then i read on a thread it should be wrist to elbow...haha stick with what doc says i guess. I might change from morning to night also but then am wondering if it will keep me awake at night...its trial and error i suppose.

thank you
