Contraceptive implant and the menopause

I have had a contraceptive implant for the last seven years. In all that time I have had no monthly bleeding or spotting - nothing. I will be 50 in a couple of months so well aware that I could be approaching, if not already going through the menopause. Out of the blue I have suddenly started a period which has now been going on for over a week. Has anyone had any experience of this? I was kind of hoping that my days of periods was over, not that they would start up again!

When are you due to get the implant out? If it's close you can get bleeding before they actually take it out

It’s not due out for another two years.

I think they recommend taking them out at 50. Maybe check with the doctor
