Starting Femoston but don’t know what day of cycle

Seems a bit of a daft question, but have been prescribed Femoston, however don’t currently have any periods so how do I know what day of my cycle I’m on in order to take the correct tablet.

Or have I complete misunderstood and these start a new cycle?

Probably overthinking as usual.

Just start whenever suits

I was about to start a thread asking exact same thing for Utrogestan! I assume advice same? I've to wear oestrogen patches too - should I do 2 weeks patch only first or start tablets on day 1 with first patch?

JinglingHellsBells · 22/05/2020 13:20

If you have no periods you can do what you want.

If you have periods you try to time the start with Day 1 or utrogestan with day 15.

Q- why are your drs not telling you this? It's bizarre HRT is given out but no instructions. (or is it on the leaflet in the pack?)

Wildernesstips · 22/05/2020 18:01

The leaflet if in the pack isn’t that clear. I would have rung my GP if I didn’t have a response here but don’t really want to waste time.

Many thanks for your help.

Jingling when I saw my GP (before lockdown) she said needed to think about what would be best for me as some types of HRT were hard to get. She then rang to say prescription had been left in my pharmacy. I didn't realise about the cycle thing until I picked them up, which coincided with lockdown & inability to get hold of my GP!! I've been trying to get a call back ever since & hence hadn't started the treatment as didn't want to get it wrong - but flushes getting unbearable so this was my only other option - leaflet in pack doesn't address when to take in absence of periods and couldn't find anything on internet. Is that ok?
