About to start HRT today or tomorrow - any advice (things you'd wished you knew)?

So I have my patches and progesterone pills (which I am to take from day 1). I can feel my period starting now so will start today or tomorrow. Has anyone got any tips/advice that they wish they had known at the outset?
For example, I see that I should try to take the pills at about the same time each day and not within two hours of food. When do you find it best to take them (I am snacking so much wfh that I can't even think of a window Blush?

Are you using an estrogen only patch and Utrogestan?

Ignore the 2hr window. My consultant who is a world expert on meno says it makes no difference at all. In fact your body absorbs slightly more when taken with food, which is not a bad thing as it's more effective. I have used Utrogestan for years and take 200mgs for 10 days per cycle, at bedtime, as they can make you dizzy. So I take mine at about 11pm.

Thanks @JinglingHellsBells yes Utrogestan and then Estraderm patch. Thanks for the tip - that will make my life easier (not hope for my waistline though)!
