I had a hysterectomy eight weeks ago and recovered well. Thank goodness. I have been taking 225 mg of venlafaxine for many years. After the hysterectomy I decided with my doctors agreement to reduce the dose to 150 mg the night sweats are awful but I am unsure if it is because I was plunged into menopause after the operation or because I reduced the venlafaxine does. I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts? xx

I take a low dose of venlafaxine but get 'withdrawal' symptoms when I haven't taken it, which include feeling sick, dizzy and sweating. I don't know enough about the menopause to say if it's that but I would assume dropping your dose so much after a long time would certainly have an effect. Is there any way you can increase it and come down more slowly?
