Last 6 weeks or so they've gone just like that!!!! I used to wake up in the middle of the night feeling red hot, used to be throwing the duvet off then back on but now theyve gone!!!

Are you saying that hot flushes happen when periods don't?

I've not found easy to access menopause information- lots of lists of symptoms, but nothing explaining the whys and wherefores. Any tips?

Overseasmom100 · 06/05/2020 23:31

Just seems strange literally since lock down no hit sweats at night then this very light period almost stopped but have tge niggly period pains. Very strange got to start counting all over again now

My hot flushes started about 2 years ago, lasted for about 4 or 5 months then completely stopped, i was delighted! Sadly they have returned with avengeance this past month, I’m 52 and periods stretching out to one every 3 or 4 months at present. To me menopause is like having permanent PMT without the relief of a regular period to ease the symptoms with the added horror of hot flushes which I really hoped I had seen the back of, evidently not.

TiddyTid · 06/05/2020 23:49

Oh, same! No hot flushes since lockdown....weird

ItsLateHumpty · 06/05/2020 23:59

Are you saying that hot flushes happen when periods don't?

For me, yes. When the hot flushes ease off, so far its meant another period, even though there have been months between.

And yes @Overseasmom100 to restarting that count again - it’s frustrating huh Brew

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 07/05/2020 00:00

Mine have returned since lockdown! Despite being very happy at home and no financial worries, so it can’t be down to lockdown stress or worry as to be honest I just feel like I have been on a relaxing holiday!

fallfallfall · 07/05/2020 00:35

They do eventually go away and stay away just like menses.

pizzaandchoc · 08/05/2020 11:59

My hot flushes have gone as well. I don't mind them but they were uncomfortable during the long hot summer of 2018.

TiddyTid · 12/05/2020 21:55

Mine are so bad my DH wakes me up because they've woken him up and he's flapping the duvet trying to cool us both down 😂

CalendulaAndRoses · 13/05/2020 11:10

I'm same as BettyBoo - had hot flushes about a year ago for a couple of months, then they disappeared. Now back over the last few weeks big time. Ugh! I could barely get out of bed this morning I was so tired from the duvet on/duvet off nocturnal shenanighans. Finally made it down to laptop for work at 10am.

I'm feeling quite low in mood too which is annoying as had been quite even keeled for a long while.

I'm 51 and periods very erratic now. I'll think they are gone for good and then... but maybe the flushes do come back when the periods are absent, I haven't had one now since March. Fingers crossed this means am entering a new phase and they will just bugger off completely soon. Rapidly followed by the hot flushes.

The thread needs linking with this one

(Contains a link to an article about these issues too)

Something's going on, whether it's anxiety/lack of anxiety related, or more directly linked to being infected, I don't know!

ILikeyourHairyHands · 13/05/2020 11:21

Mine are terrible atm, but I think they go in cycles as hormone levels fluctuate during menopause, I was plagued about 9 months ago and then they abated for about 6 months, now they're back with a vengeance. I don't think it's lockdown related!

LumpySpacedPrincess · 13/05/2020 11:39

Mine are back, haven't had them or a period for months, October I think.

I found intermittent fasting really helped with my menopause symptoms and since I'm in lockdown I'm not really doing that.

ItWasntMyFault · 13/05/2020 11:44

I haven't had a hot flush for about 2 months but have had two periods.

I came off the pill in October so hadn't had a period for about 7 years and thought they were gone for good (I'm 51) then have had two in March and April.
All very weird!
