Hello. I am on weekly oestrogen patches 50mcg however it does t last so good for a week. I can t reach my doctor to ask so l will ask you. Can l change this patch twice a week or does it need to be lower dose? Because l was told to change it once a week l don t know if l can just go ahead and change it twice a week from now on ? Perhaps l can cut it in half and change each half twice a week. I don t know. Anyone with real knowledge please?

@Sageda I change mine twice a week but only because that's what my prescription is.

Dilbertian · 03/05/2020 15:36

I only ever had the huge patches a couple of times, and they never worked well for me, whether cut up or complete. At least cut up they stayed on, but the PP's explanation no doubt accounts for why their effect was not improved. OK Sageda, scratch that idea - do not cut them up!Grin

Another question: when do you apply them? I find that all makes and sizes of patches stick better if I do not apply them straight after the shower. I also bend forward slightly so that my skin is slightly stretched while I apply them. That way there's less stress on the patch while I'm moving around or sitting down.

@Dilbertian no worries, l won t cut them, thanks for brainstorming with me here though. No l don t put them on after shower and on dry skin. I ve a small toddler so lots of moving and juggling during the day. I will get one of those bandage rolls cut a big piece and stick it on it. And once the Covid crisis are under control, l will get gel prescribed. X

also, those of you who changes them twice a week, do you alternate the sides ? l m curious.

Yes it is recommended you change sides and position, so not always in the same place

Do they stick back on if you reapply them to a different area? Sometimes mine fall off and if I do that they seem to restick again

Apologies for butting in on this thread but are patches available again in UK?

CalmYoBadSelf · 03/05/2020 22:04

@christmassausages. I don't think they are

Cocolapew · 03/05/2020 22:21

I got Everol patches a month ago for the first time since last year.

Dilbertian · 03/05/2020 22:36

Yes they are, they always have been. I haven't been able to get my choice of patch for nearly 6m, but I've had patches every month.

Ilets · 03/05/2020 23:26

Evorel are mostly back in stock, sequi in a few weeks

Sageda · 04/05/2020 15:33
