It’s early days but I’d be comforted to hear others thoughts! I’ve noticed through my tracking app that my cycle length has fluctuated here and there the past year having been clockwork for my whole adult life. Last month my period was 4 days late and this month I am 8 days late and still no sign of it. My husband had a vasectomy 6 years ago. I am noticeably hot and sweaty at night but no other symptoms really. My family average for menopause has been around 54 (my Mum, her sister and her mother) so I didn’t expect it this soon and I am wondering if I am being daft! It’s strange that my periods have become so unreliable of late, I’ve never experienced that before except during pregnancy.

You're very young for peri meno ( although women can experience symptoms in their early 40s.

It's too young to tell. A couple of odd cycles isn't enough to go on; periods can be late for all kinds of reasons, such as stress and being a bit unwell. Keep a diary for 6 months at least and see what happens then.

too young- too soon

40 is on the young side so you'd possibly need to see a dr if you really do think it's menopause. It's far more likely to be just cycle fluctuations

People can be less fertile in their late thirties onwards so I’m presuming that’s the start of hormone changes which ramp up in the 50s until menopause. So it could just be that not enough to be officially peri as yet.

I’m off to eat chocolate, have just depressed myself Grin
