Has anyone successfully stopped femostron? Did you wean off it?

I came off Femoston 2/10 after Christmas.

I took 7 of the first colour tablet every other day and then I took 7 of the second colour tablet every other day.
So spread the dose over 28 days disposing of 7 of the first colour and 7 of the second colour that I had not used.

After 28 days I stopped and now the only symptom that has returned is hot flushes a couple of times a night in bed but they are manageable.

@mononymous Ideally, you ought to have taken the progestogen tablets for all 14 days not just 7. It's fine to reduce the estrogen, but as it was a 2mg dose I think medical advice would be to complete the full course of progestogen to make sure all your lining came away.

@incognitomum If you come off hrt you should do it gradually, by reducing the estrogen slowly. This can be by dropping one or two tablets of estrogen per cycle, for example, or taking one every other day. I think though you ought to keep to the full number of progestogen tablets each month to ensure the womb lining is cleared.
