Anyone else getting worse hot flushes this week?

Is it stress? For obvious reasons. I've been happily symptom free for ages on Oestrogel but this week I'm getting so many hot flushes and sleepless nights (unusual for me to ever not sleep, it's because I'm getting hot.)

Yes! It's stress related tho isn't it? I hadn't had one since last August xx

Me too, the nights are terrible. I'm like a furnace, the insomnia is back. My mind is racing even though I'm fine and not too stressed during the day!
Hoping it passes as I work in a school and need to be upbeat and positive which is hard when I'm knackered Grin
Any tips for a better night's sleep welcome.

Yes me too, stress raises cortisol levels which give you hot flushes, I'm obsessively taking my temperature fearing the worst, DH keeps telling me to relax which really isn't helping.

Yes me too!
I'm also a nurse the protective gear although essential and I'll wear it to the letter - is menopausal hot hell!!

IWantToBeNynaeve · 22/03/2020 11:09

God yes and I'm so glad to read that it's not just me!

How weird. I suddenly started getting night sweats really badly about 12 days ago, plus horrible headache in the day. Thought I must be suddenly perimenopausal (47). Since then though, 3 out of the other 4 members of family have developed suspected CV19 and the night sweats and headaches pretty much stopped after a week. I didn't think much of it until I heard Nadine Dorris say that she suffered suddenly from night sweats before she was diagnosed and now I wonder if I had it and was mostly asymptomatic (no temp or cough)... but I haven't seen anyone else mention anything relating these things? Confused - who knows, it might be a possibility?

rearay menopause and protective gear you're a true warrior, thank you so much for all that you are doing💐

ScrapThatThen · 22/03/2020 12:17

Sounds like not just me then 😮. I had a cold shower before bed and took one cover off and it seemed to help a bit. Also had a long run in the day which is usually a big help to symptoms and I didn't run and couldn't swim last week, so that also might not have helped. Keep yourselves safe and reasonably sane in the madness friends x

sleepwhenidie it's possible you had CV then, but don't be complacent in case you didn't, stay safe.

Thank goodness. I have spent all week thinking ‘is this a fever?’

sleepwhenidie · 22/03/2020 12:38

Thanks scrapthat, definitely wont be complacent, we have been SI since Tuesday and since until there’s a test we won’t know for sure that we’ve had it, we will be staying in as much as we possibly can.

Flushes and a tad more emotional than normal

GlassOfProsecco · 26/03/2020 20:39

I'm having mini-flushes (I think) - is that a thing? Not full-blown swears but just episodes of feeling flushed/burning, only one overnight though.

dontdisturbmenow · 27/03/2020 12:58

I'm totally the opposite. Despite feeling quite anxious, I've noticed that I hadn't had one in over a week. Really odd. I'm sure it will be back to remind me how crap it is!
