What's next?
I've put up with symptoms for about 16 months now, starting with extreme hair loss, poor sleep, fluctuating periods, really bad period pains, very sore breast etc.

I have a fatty middle, brittle nails and my body temp is weird. Definite hot sweats at night (I've never been a sweaty person) and for the first ever time, my body odour was pretty ripe after a few hours of work.

I'm pretty low in mood, zero
Libido and have lost my mojo totally.

Reading something on here has reminded me that it could be the onset of the menopause and your posts have given me some hope!

I'm 47 and would really like to stop being a joyless harpy.

What will happen at the GP (if they see me in the current climate)?

I should add my brain fog.
I've been quietly terrified that I was starting to develop dementia (it's in the females in my family). Inability to think and to remember simple things.

It's up to you to ask your GP for whatever you want.

Unless you want HRT there is no point seeing a dr.

If you do want to try HRT then you need to go in, explain all your symptoms, say you have read and researched possible small risks with hrt, and want to go ahead and try it.

Thanks Jingle. I'll definitely ask.
Until something popped onto my MN app, I've thought it was 'normal' and didn't even consider the menopause.

My surgery operates an online consultation - I'll contact them Monday. I feel pretty hopeful!
