Just looking for some advise really. I had my ovaries removed last year so am in the menopause now, suffering with the usual, hot flushes etc. I went to see my doctor because I just want to feel like me again and he said that he wasn't sure what HRT I should be on because I have no ovaries but still have my womb and uterus. He asked my consultant gynae what he recommended and he came back with Ellest Duel or Everol. However, I have been prescribed Femoston 1/10 because the doctor said I wouldn't be able to get what my consultant recommended. I'm fed up because I've been waiting a month to hear back from the consultant and what was the point anyway if I can't even get what he told them.

I asked the pharmacist whether Femoston was similar to Everol and he didn't seem to know, just said it was better than nothing. I am really unsure now whether to start taking it or just leave it. Is anyone here on Femoston 1/10 and if so, has it been ok? Any pro's or cons. I've tried researching it online but it's just a minefield so anyones advise would be greatly appreciated thank you.

I’m on femostan, I found the first 2/3 days taking the progesterone (grey tablets) wipes me out; tiredness, nausea, headaches, but that seems to have got better (don’t they say it takes 3 months with any new medication?). Overall it’s been ok but I’ve noticed some of my symptoms cane back after I switched from evorel to femostan (aching feet & elbows, some fatigue, now aching hands too!)

I’ve posted on a different thread because I managed to finally get Evorel patches yesterday, so now I’m almost giddy and want to shout it out. In fact I might just start a new thread to let as many people know! It’s marvellous stuff so might be worth you hanging in there and trying that first; different for everyone but I noticed benefits straight away with no side effects (as soon as I started on it I slept through; I always just thought I got up in the night to pee-it was always around 2.30am, but now I sleep through I imagine I was waking with restlessness/hit flush and just thinking it was to go to the loo). I’d bathe in oestrogen if I could; and I’m only slightly peri menopausal but it’s made a massive difference

I am on Femoston 2/10, no symptoms except breast tenderness sometimes. I feel normal on it, I guess! :)
