Progesterone help please HRT

Hi, been on HRT since XMas. It had really helped a lot of the symptoms have gone - Hot flushing at night, itchy, stiff etc.

I am on the patches and 10 days of progesterone tablets every month. I felt a bit nauseous with the tablets in the first month of them but now fine.

My question is when should I have a bleed? I didn't on the first cycle, GP said not to worry, but I haven't on the 2nd cycle either. I was half expecting a huge heavy period but nothing. Has anyone any experience of this?

Thank you

something like 20 % of women on HRT do not have a bleed.

A lot depends on how much estrogen you use. What dose estrogen are you using and what sort- gel/patch/ pill?

I was keen to keep dose as low as possible - I am on Evorel 25. Was 2 patches a week but I was still getting some symptoms so GP suggested increasing slightly to 1.5 twice a week.

There is no benefit in using HRT if the dose is too low to work.

25mg is a tiny dose. On that dose and 10 days Utrogestan you are probably not going to bleed.

I don't understand the 1.5 a week. If you have a patch the dose is 25, 37 , 50 and 100mcg (for some types.)

I'm just normally quite sensitive to medication and GP said to increase by half a patch / 50% increase to see if that helped my symptoms, she did say it was still a low dose.

My anxiety, night sweats, itching, foggy thoughts and a lot of the stiffness has gone.

Do you think that is why no bleed then as it is so low?

What would be the benefit in increasing it?

I think one and a half would be around 37?

There is also a shortage of the HRT and she prescribed that one as more of it about.

Yes- explained that above in your posts

What would be the benefit in increasing it?
Depends- if you still have symptoms, then yes.

I am on hrt, on 2mg of estradiol and 10 mg dydrogesterone, cyclical type and I have no bleed. My gyn say that it is ok and that is a sign of low estrogen.

Thank you both.

Makes sense.

The only thing now is I am still so stiff. Wondering if increasing the dose would help that.
