Estrogel - can I just up the dose?

Have been on two pumps for about 6 weeks, combined with ultrogestan 25 days out of 28. Felt great at first and thought it was working well but my sleep has gone haywire - aaarghh!! Can I just up the gel without talking to the GP and will this help? Does your body get used to it so you end up needing more?

I should send them a message. Apart from anything they will start to query why you need the prescription sooner (if they are like my surgery). One doc changed me to patches when I asked to increase pumps but another didn't understand why she did that and switched me back. You're on a combination so I wouldn't know if it's ok.

Yes you can increase the dose and no you don't need ask your GP.
I've used it for 12 years and my meno consultant is happy for me to decrease or increase depending on my symptoms. I go from using 1 pump (doesn't control night sweats) to 1.5 or 2 pumps a day. The leaflet tells you that you can increase to 4 pumps a day.

However, you might find it's the daily Utrogestan that is affecting you and counteracting the beneficial effects of estrogen.

Some women find it sedating but I find it makes me hot and keeps me awake- but I'm using it only for 10 days at a time not daily.
