Hi ladies
I am new to this forum but having been reading posts and getting lots of helpful information. You are all so supportive. I am almost 50 and after months of unbearable hot flushes finally plucked up courage to see my GP. She is quite young but was just so lovely, made me tearful! Prescribed the patches and after a bit of delay because of the shortage she tracked down a box. I only applied one on Thursday so very early days but wondered how long til I feel better. I know I need to have patience but just feel rubbish. Thanks in advance ladies.

Hi I've been using Evorel patches a while now I think I started to feel better after a couple of weeks with some things, i started on very low dose of 25mcg patch and had to build up slowly due to side effect of bloating. Stick with it as they take a while and some things I was told take 3 months. It's also getting the dose right. It has been hugely beneficial for me I literally couldn't cope without it. I know there is a lot of pressure to deal with menopause "naturally" but this just doesn't work for some women.

Seems a little crazy to be prescribed patches at the moment as they are practically impossible to get hold of. It would have surely been better for you to be started on gel, no?

Alittewornout · 26/01/2020 11:13

I know, @damnthatanxiety I did ask at the appt about the shortage but she said these were fine it was only when I looked at the prescription in the chemist I realised there may be an issue. Keeping my fingers crossed the supply is back in stock for everyone soon. Thanks @IlikebigMutts for the heads up that it may be a week or so yet I will try and be patient.

Evorel Sequi is not expected to be back in pharmacies until mid 2020. I'm not sure about Conti

damnthatanxiety · 27/01/2020 14:15

But to answer your question, I felt better in about 3 days. Things continued to improve for the next few months. I think the benefit has dropped a teeny bit now over a year on but boy oh boy am I a new woman. My issues were more mental health - crippling anxiety, feeling suicidal. I went from wanting to end it all to being happy and energetic almost overnight. If these patches do not work for you OP, please try another form. I want every woman to have the transformation I have experienced.

Evorel brands should be back in stock by Feb 2020 - unless there has been another update and I've missed it. Hope not!

Link here that has a list of other HRT brands also.

Thank you all for your responses. @damnthatanxiety my night time anxiety and palpitations has decreased so that is definitely a plus. Jury is still out on the night time hot spells but it’s not been a week yet. Will just go day by day.

@Alittewornout if the night sweats are still a problem after a couple of weeks taking it I would speak to your doctor about increasing the dosage. Also it is a little known fact that there are NHS menopause clinics around the country you can ask for a referral from your GP if you're struggling. I've been on Evorel 25 patches and haven't had any major problems yet with supply. I also cut my patches in half to slowly increase dose. I'm on 2 and a half now.

Hi Ladies...I have joined on here tonight. I was reading posts a few days ago & Am sure I read whilst your on HRT ypur hormones can still go up & down is that correct? I'm 54 & been started on Everol 50 patches this is my 4th week. Most of my symptoms were mental health related & they have slightly improved but still hoping to feel better. I have got severe tummy bloating looking pregnant, headaches & tummy craps. Any advice thanks in advance ?x

Princessnessie · 09/05/2022 19:13

Started everol 50 as the oestrogel has run out..horrendous two and a half week period ,have stopped them as I feel so rotten..cant sleep ,my anxiety is mad and now got high blood pressure

CrazyBatLady66 · 21/05/2022 14:09

@Princessnessie did your doctor tell you to stop the patches ? I have only used patches not gel but the patches take a while I think to work. I also had to change from Evorelle to Estrodot as I wasn’t absorbing the Evorelle. Please don’t suffer alone , speak to your doctor. If your doctor is not able to manage your menopause then NHS guidelines say they should refer you to a menopause clinic where you will see a consultant . It could also be that the dosage is not right and you need a higher dose patch. You can cut them in half yourself as well to gradually increases.

Princessnessie · 22/05/2022 16:35

I just stopped...its hard because I feel horrendous now ALLmy symptoms are back and I'm torn...Dr calling me tomorrow so I discuss all my concerns then.im 50 next week and am struggling so bad 👎

Lisa5551 · 28/03/2023 11:58

I started evorel conti 5 months ago after being on evorel sequi for 18 months. I am feeling much better since I started using it. I have dreadful headaches and these have almost stopped. I am also sleeping better. I have had issues with bleeding though, pretty well constant, finll y stopped now, for now at least, but apparently this can occur whilst your body is getting used to it - healthexpress.co.uk/evorel-conti

lindae57 · 29/02/2024 11:53

Hi I am on Evorel Conti for 6 months and started having bleeding so I cut the patch in half diagonally and they seem ok now I had a ultrasound scan and saw the hospital gynecologist yesterday who confirmed that I should be fine on a lower dose and no sign of Cancer I’m 66 and I was on Kliovance tablets before for about 20 years which were fine only changed to patches as they are safer so I’ll see if the lower dose patches work without spotting if not she advised me to go back on the tablets again …it can be complicated to get the right HRT for you but well worth doing I’m not going to stop feeling great 😊
