My doctor has recently prescribed me the above as my previous prescription was unavailable and also not working very well. I'm 48, and still have random periods probably around every 3 months. Reading the oestrogen leaflet it says it's for post menopausal women ONLY. Should I be taking this if I'm not post menopausal? I haven't started taking it yet. I wanted hrt to help mostly with emotional / mood side effects of peri.

The name in the box actually says OEstrodose estradiol.

what exactly have you been given?

Have you been given Oestrogel and a separate pill ?

Which of these says only for only post menopause?

Oestrogel is certainly not just for women post menopause.

Thanks, I've been given the gel and separate tablets. I read the leaflet for the gel and it says for post menopausal women only.

Stop worrying.

It's used by women in peri and post menopause.

I can only assume that as 'peri menopause' is not accepted as a medical term, the leaflets don't list it as such.

You have been given the right stuff. I've used it for 12 years starting in peri, prescribed by a consultant who thinks it's 'brilliant stuff'.

@JinglingHellsBells Hi, isn' t medroxyprogesterone progestin rather than micronised progesterone? I heard that progestins are not good for health?

Hi I have just been prescribed oestrogen and medroxyprogestetone. Please can anyone comment on this tablet before I start taking it. As with the above poster would like to know if there is anything better for me. Thank you
