Hrt Dosage confusion

Hi
Can someone explain what the doses mean in hrt

I get that oestrogens ranges from 0.5. 1mg,. 2mg. Is higher better?

And what about the (norethisterone). progestogen. Why are those doses different from tablet to tablet, what does it do?

The doses are different because women are all different.

The idea is you take the lowest dose to control your symptoms.
In older women starting HRT after 60, they start on a low dose.
A woman in her early 40s might need 2mg to be similar to the higher estrogen a women that age would have naturally.

Norethisterone is just one type of progestin.

The dose is in a ratio to the amount of estrogen used.
