Menopause how long

I think I've been menopausal for at least a year.
Though the last six months I've felt like I was going insane. Constantly tired sick aching no patience heart palpitations flushes and terrible anxiety. Plus huge weight gain. I started HRT in December helped with the insomnia and flushes but still symptomatic.... how long will this last it's awful really and if there was an end at least it would be tolerable.

You aren't menopausal- you are in peri menopause.

Menopausal is what you are for the rest of your life after a final period.

The bit in between regular periods and no period is peri meno.

You need to give HRT at least 3 months- a few weeks is no time at all :)

If it doesn't get better see GP and maybe try a higher dose.

What are you doing about weight gain?

Got any plans there- maybe the 5:2 diet, or low carb, and some kind of exercise plan? Weight does make all peri symptoms worse.
