Struggling in last two days of HRT sequential cycle... any ideas?

I've been on HRT for about 5 years and have been mostly very happy.
I'm on a low dose (1 mg) of Elleste Duet, which is my choice, as I find I prefer the 'high and low' of the cycle better than the continuous 'bleurgh' feeling I had on combi.

However I'm now finding that I'm struggling with the last 2-3 days of the progesterone phase. I feel as if my heart is racing, terrible anxiety and slight light-headedness and I find it hard to lie down to sleep. Last night I almost convinced myself I was having a heart attack - everything felt so 'tight' in my chest. I know my blood pressure rises too (I have a home monitor).
This morning I took an aspirin as this seems to calm me down and helps me believe I'm not about to have a heart attack.
When it's really bad it affects my daily life, as I'm too panicky to drive etc.

I'm not sure what to do? I've tried other types of HRT (patches etc) and they really didn't work for me.
I'd prefer to find some way of sorting out this last couple of days of the month. It's almost as if my body is saying it's had enough progesterone and can't cope with any more!

Anyone know if I could reduce the progesterone phase to just 10 days?
