I'm 48 and a half. Yesterday, after 348 days of my longest cycle yet by far (previous record - 151 days) my period returned. JUST as I was starting to think that maybe - just maybe - the end was in sight.

Now I know that if you're under 50 you have to have no periods for 2 years to be thought to be through menopause, but I was really thinking that almost one year down, one year to go. BUT NO!

I know there's nowt I can do about this but I just needed to vent. And please share your similar stories with me.

I feel your pain OP! Not quite the same here but similar annoyance. I'm 50 and currently on an approx 80-day cycle, except every so often it goes beserk and does a really short one like 16 days, then back to the 80 days. I keep hoping the gap will get longer but no Angry

I just want to be done with it. But I do think that after about 6 years of random symptoms, they seem a bit less severe now.

You lot are lucky. I’m 59 and on day 315! Before that it was exactly as you describe with the longest about 200 days then oddly frequent etc. I await the end of February with hope. Although not sure what difference it’ll make.
