Androferme 1

I was prescribed Androferme 1 testosterone HRT on private prescription yesterday. (Prescribed by NHS gynaecologist, but not available on the NHS.)

Turns out you have to import it from Australia at a cost of £130 every three months! This just isn't an option.

Has anyone been prescribed alternative female testosterone HRT in the U.K.? If so, has it made a difference and what do you take?

Oh dear! Sounds like they don't know what's what.

In the UK the only way women can access testosterone is by using the make versions in smaller quantities. If you do a search you might find threads here on it.

You need to contact your consultant and tell them , Pity they don't know Hmm

male versions of it.

@Jinglingbells it is so disappointing as the gynaecologist I saw, I found on the British Menopause Society's website, following all the campaigns on the Menopause on TV. She is listed as a Menopause Specialist.

who is it? (you don't have to say.)

Just phone her PA and explain. Maybe she's never prescribed testo before? Did she not tell you it had to come from Oz? Did the pharmacy tell you?

ps

You will still have to pay the cost of any private prescription so you need to ask for the costs. The people I know of who use it, get it in the UK .
