Period pain but no period?

Is this normal?
I haven’t had a period for 3 months, prior to this I was irregular and the length and heavyness of my periods were variable.
For the last couple of days I’ve had bad period type cramps but no period.

I think it's fair to say that when it comes to perimenopause, there's no such thing as normal.

I was almost six months without a period and then started to get terrible cramping. After ten days of this my period came. The cramping continued throughout and I bled for about a week.

During the first few period-free months, I did get a little cramping and various other PMT type symptoms. But no bleeding. As my periods have been all over the place for the past few years, I didn't really give it much thought and decided it would either turn up again, or I'd make it to 24 months period-free and I'd be done.
