Hot flushes every half hour

They’re driving me nuts. Came on about 3 months ago. Every half hour. I’ve not had a period since they started. Is this what happens? Should I consider HRt? They are impacting on my sleep too.

I feel your pain. I went onto HRT patches and now have my life back! ( am 55)

I’m late forties. I really love the thought of periods going but these bloody hot flushes are awful.

My only symptoms of menopause are hot flushes and insomnia. I am nervous about taking HRT so my Dr suggested I try Clonidine which is given to women who can’t take HRT. It is non-hormonal drug that can reduce hot flushes. One of the side effects is sleepiness. I haven’t been taking it for long, but have seen a drastic reduction in the number of hot flushes ( I was having 1 per hour) and the intensity of the ones I do have has also been massively reduced. My sleep has also improved.

My friend took that as she couldn’t take HRT, she got fewer flushes but side effects.

Hrt is safe for most women. Google the NICE guidelines.

I may give hrt a try. If I can ever get an appointment at my surgery.
