Hi I only started the patches at beginning of month. I don't like how they have affected my mood. I am seriously thinking of coming off them. Because I haven't been on them too long, can I just stop them or do I need to wean off?

I am on evorel conti 2 patches a week

Well yes, I just come off and on when I feel I need to. (I use the gel and can buy it OTC here) No adverse effects at all. 1 month isn't long to try it though.

I tend not to use it in summer as the pool/heat etc for 3 months, it just doesn't stay on!

Yes you can but think about trying other stuff? I couldn't cope with norethisterone myself, it made me suicidal to be frank, but now I have oestrogen gel or patches and take micronised progesterone and I'm fine now. It's not that unusual to have problems with the progestogen part of the HRT

It's not a good idea to start with a conti type as this means your body is getting both hormones every day. It's better to use a sequential type even if post meno, for maybe 6 months, to find if the progestogen part suits you. With sequi you get estrogen daily but progestogen only 12 days a month.
