I’m 50, and period is 4 weeks late and counting.. I have been having a few perimenopausal symptons, nothing major, which I have been managing with herbal supplements, I’m not keen on going on hrt and at the moment Im coping fine so really don’t feel there is much need. This is the 1st time my period had been this late. I’m wondering if I need to see a GP. You don’t see a Gp when your period starts so I guess I don’t need to see one when it finishes unless you have other concerns, which thankfully I don’t have. It’s a nightmare to get in to see our gp,s.

If you are fine then you don't need to see a doctor.

This is to be expected at your age perfectly normal, your periods will become irregular and further apart until you go 12 months without one then you will be menopausal. If you feel ok then you don't need to see a GP, hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones who have a relatively easy time. Eat healthy, plenty of exercise helps. If you do start to suffer then there are many different types of HRT thaw I'll help.
