Femoston shortage

This is all new to me. Only just been prescribed and can't get it anywhere. I was borderline for needing it but if I want it - currently sitting here roasting hot and grumpy so today is a yes day, where the devil can I get it. Tried 5 places so far

Go back to your gp and ask for a prescription for HRT that is available. DD has been on patches for a couple of months, was just coming into the feeling ok stage. She was unable to fill her latest repeat prescription after trying a number of pharmacies. Internet says this particular patch has not been available in this country since june/July (apart from old stock) and that there will be no new stock until 2020.

After stern words (hers) were spoken with the reception ist, DD was given a new prescription.

I'm quite sure DD was not the first woman to have this problem, so quite why GP continues to prescribe a drug that cannot be accessed is anyone's guess

I had to phone and say I couldn't get my hrt anywhere, the receptionist said she would get the Dr to leave out an alternative prescription. The next day I got a phone call from the pharmacist at the surgery to say she had managed to find a pharmacy with 24 patches and they were holding them for me.
I had tried that particular pharmacy and they had previously given me all they had and weren't expecting any more to come in, so I've no idea why the had some.
So yes definitely get her to phone her surgery and make enquiries.

Is this patches I'm having them? I know so little about it and was a bit shocked to be prescribed. I'd gone to ask if I could be menopausal and came out with the script - was told no blood test to identify menopause until it's finished but my symptoms were classic. Interesting times. I'll see if I can get any in the two places open to me- one send back in stock end October and then phone back. Thanks all.

It's a minefield. GP said pharmacy should be able to get them but they just sort of shrugged. Big pharmacy at Trafford centre said end October but you take on first day of period so it'll likely have to wait a month as the cramping has just started and I feel like crap today. Period must be on the way ...urgh. Not liking this one bit and it's only going to get worse unless I can get the pills

I am having the same problem. I am on femoston 1/10. In July I only managed to get 3 months worth. Got repeat last week for another 3 months and no where has them. Spoke to pharmacist yesterday and asked what she had in stock that was the closest match. She said Femoston conti but on reading up it says this is for women who have had no periods for 12 months. Prior to hrt which I have now been on for 3 years I was having periods every 6-9 months so I have no idea if I am in full blown menopause or still peri. I am going to try and speak with a doctor today to see what they say.
