Hi - I am 54 nearly 55 and last had a period 10 months ago. Yesterday it started again 😩. I appeared to have PMT in the run up and very sore nipples so assuming too much oestrogen still. I know I have to go 12 months with no period to office menopausal but I really thought I was there. Has anybody else gone as long before getting another period suddenly again. I know I am perimenopausal but haven’t really had any real symptoms like hot flushes. Anyone else my age still not officially menopausal.

Yes you have to go back and count again.
The sore nipples etc are part of PMS yes . It's nothing to do with more estrogen- usually the opposite - too little progesterone. You might not get flushes etc for a while after your periods have stopped for good!

I had exactly the same Op. a period after almost a year but that was definitely the last one.
