Sodding peri periods

Periods were completely 28-day regular for 30+ years (pregnancy aside). I am now 48 and in peri menopause - and they have gone haywire. I could live with them coming anything between 14 and 70 days apart, which they did for a while - but now each one is coming about 4 days after the previous one finishes. They're not especially heavy (kind of moderate), but they all last about 8-9 days. I celebrate the end of one, and four days later another sodding one starts. Having completely rejected the idea of HRT, I'm now thinking I'll do it if it gives me a break from periods for at least a couple of weeks.

Dr Google isn't very clear about this - so I wonder if any of the vipers here can advise, please? (Plus: has anyone else had this bastarding 'non stop periods' pattern at this stage? Plus: what is the sodding point of periods at all once we don't want to have any more children? Angry).

Sorry for the rant. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yep. Been there, and you have my sympathy. Mine were pretty much every 3 weeks and I bled for anything between 3 days and 3 weeks. All through my 40s.

Last year they stopped. I've not had one for 15 months. I'm 50 at the end of this year.

Urgh, FooFighters. But I am holding out hope for not having one for 15 months!!

They are bloody pointless though aren't they? I mean once you've got to a certain age. But... they don't last forever. They'll stop eventually. But until then they are just a complete pain. You have my sympathy.

However, just last month I started experiencing hot flushes... the fun never stops, hey!?
