Magnesium works as a muscle relaxant so might help but everyone is different. Maybe if you have all the symptoms of meno you want to think about HRT? It certainly helps and with the insomnia.

I am not menopausal but take magnesium for insomnia and it does work. I take 2 in the morning so I am not using it as placebo sleeping pill and find i fall asleep pretty easily but also if i wake during the night, i generally get straight back to sleep rather than tossing and turning for hours. You have nothing to lose- give it a go. I used to be quite reliant on melatonin until i started magnesium.
