Hi Everyone. I am after some positive reviews/stories :)

I am just about to start Novofem after 4 years of flushes, bad sleeping and joint aches. My last period was 12 months ago. Has anyone had positive results with Novofem. I have been on Fluoxetine (AD's) for 12 months also to help with low mood but would like to come off them if HRT works :) Any advice would be most appreciated xx

How’s it been starting, please? I’m anxious as it is and am very afraid it’ll make me even more anxious or nauseous 🙈

JinglingHellsBells · 06/09/2019 10:05

maria- you just need to start. Everyone is different so it's pointless asking for opinions. Are you getting support for your anxiety anyway as this sounds a real issue.

MrsMc8 · 06/09/2019 11:42

Hi Maria - I agree you just need to start if you feel ready for it.
My own experience has been great. The red tablets gave me a bad stomach for a week but that quickly went. I am now half-way through the white tablets. I expected these to have awful side-effects, but nothing !! The flushes are now starting to die-off, I only have the occasional heat rush. My boobs have become sore but I haven't had a period yet, not looking forward to having them back (1 full year without them). My joints are still achy but so far I am happy I made the decision to take them. The only negative and its not really a negative is I am having really long dreams (not dirty ones Wink !!)
I'm sorry to hear that this is making you anxious. Everyone seems to have different experiences and if you do start them I hope you have a positive reaction to them.
Wishing you well Smile

@MrsMc8 Thank you! The bad stomach... nausea or diarrhoea? Has it helped your mood - if that ever was a problem? x

MrsMc8 · 06/09/2019 14:31

The bad stomach wasnt too bad. Just a bit looser than normal. Didn't have any nausea. I feel that it is slowly starting to improve my low mood and I have started to reduce my ADs in preparation for coming off them. Are you worried about how you will feel on them? I was worried but to be honest I don't think they could've made me feel worse than I already did x

Generally these days I’m just afraid of anything, it seems. You are right about things bring awful as it is although I do think it can become worse for me if I get even more anxious or nauseous. But! First pill down. Crossing all I’ve got x

You sound like you're having a tough time and I truly hope this is a turning point for you. Let me know how you get on in the next few days xx

Hi Maria, how have you been this weekend?

Thank you so much for checking up on me. I’m day 4 and suddenly have diarrhoea and vile nausea. I don’t know whether to stop taking them? I get super anxious when feeling sick to my stomach 😞

MrsMc8 · 09/09/2019 13:20

Sorry to hear that. My doctor said if I can get through the first couple of weeks then symptoms will ease. I would recommend trying to stick with it. Have you tried taking ginger. It can help with nausea.
