Everol Sequi patches causing low mood, bloating

Hi all, I’m peri menopausal & I’ve been on the Everol Sequi patches for a month now. The reason for going on them was because of my hot flushes & night sweats. Before going on them, my mood was good & I hardly had any other affects. But now, I’m experiencing low mood, very agitated, bloated ness , lack of sleep.. but my flushes have died down.. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience? Thx

It will be the 2nd hormone in the patch which kicks in after 2 weeks as part of the cycle. You may find you get used to this after 3 months. All the advice is to stay with one type of HRT for 3 months then reassess.

If it's still bad, you may want to change to another type of HRT- plenty options to choose from with a different progestin.

Thanks.. I’m finding it the side affects are especially bad for the first two days I put on the patch and then I feel a bit better for the remaining days

I don't understand that- maybe the dose is too high?

That’s what I was thinking as well, just been to the doctors- sadly they were as useful as a chocolate teapot.. he mentioned another patch called FemSeven? Not sure, do I stick another month with what I’m on, change to FemSeven or just come off the patch all together #decision?

I cut the patches in half which seemed to solve the problem you are describing. Also means I have double my prescription ☺️

Emzie2202 · 13/07/2019 09:35

That’s a good idea, do they still stick ok?

Yes totally fine, it's made a difference for me most definitely. The doc was fine about it to! Worth a try at least. I have no hot sweats now and my mood is most definitely better than it was.

Emzie Femseven is unavailable, due to manufacturing problems
I am surprised your GP doesn't know that,as are a few others

Hope you are feeling better op? I’m in these and my mood has improved as has my sleep. I think I do get more bloating - I think I put it down to veggie food but now wondering.

You need to give it at least 3 months if not longer. For me, month 2 was worse han month 1 and month 3 worse than month 2 so I knew it wasn't going to work. Tried another one and same happened.

However mos5 find that these symptoms get better after 3 months and they then feel wonderful. Stick to it.

Thank you all.. I’ve stuck with Everol Sequi .. i’m In month 2 & I I feel a lot better than month one.. so far I’ve had 2-3 days where my mood has dipped & feeling a bit more tired than usua - no hot flushes which is great & my mind seems clearer, I’m going to keep going & fingers crossed Month 3 will be better x

Great to hear you are feeling better! 🤩
HRT still seems to have such a negative rep but I'm absolutely sticking with it as I was going round the bend before I started using the patches.
