Peri with terrible wind!

Hi there, I didn't want to hijack the other thread about digestion, so thought I'd start a new one.

Am on Ecorel Conti/50 HRT patches, and have recently started getting terrible bloating and uncomfortable wind. Each night my stomach inflates (no matter what I eat) and then I spend the evening farting, much to my DH and DD's amusement. This has never happened to me before, and I have no idea what to do about it.
Have just started a no/low carb diet (>800 calorie diet) so no bread/pasta etc, and that seems to have cut down on the really painful trappped wind, but had a very innocent bowl of salad leaves for dinner and have still blown up like a balloon.
So, does this sound like a Peri thing, or a food thing, and what should I do about it? I thought for a while I had a huge cyst or something as my stomach was so pronounced, but the diet seems to have reduced it. It's the evening bloating that drives me mad.
Any help/advice would be gratefully received.

Hi , I’m the one who did the digestion post ! I’m not on any hrt . But as my periods went wack so did my bowels & stomach . I have kept a religious food diary for 6 months now , have no dairy cut out bread . There is no rhyme or reason I like you can eat something like a salad & feel the wind start to come on , gurgling farting ha ! It’s very painful at times. Look up Low FODMAP this is what the docs tell you to follow if you have Ibs. Which my doc says she thinks it is ! I disagree as I’m sooo strict . It’s defo hormonal , I’ve also read up a lot on it & mine follows a pattern worse around when I’m due to ovulate then a few days before my period is due . Also look up anti inflammatory foods & soluble fibre . I also eat from these food groups . I also have peppermint capsules & wind tablets which help disperse the gas . I’ve never had an issue with any foods till peri , it does seem a rare thing to have as hardly anyone posts about it. Remember your gut is controlled by your hormones so it makes sense it will effect some of us ! It’s a bloody awful thing as it makes you miserable . Hope this helps .
