I started hrt a couple of weeks ago and for the last few days have been itchy - mostly on my stomach and back. No rash though.Anyone else had this?

Me too!!! I’ve only just started HRT at the weekend. I rub one pump of œstrogen gel on my arm at night and on Tuesday I experienced a deep red flushing of all of the skin on my body-I looked sunburnt- along with a fever which went away yesterday but in the evening the itching started; on my scalp, my ears, and my face feels prickly like as if I’ve had multiple stings from stinging nettles. I feel as if I need to take an anti-histamine. I’m itching and prickling as I write this and have looked up that it can be a side-effect. I’m going to see the pharmacist to see what she recommends. I also have a progesterone ovule that I insert at night which is fine but when I had to take it orally on Tuesday night it made me really hypersensitive to smells and nauseous just like I was when I was pregnant. How are you now Movingonishard? We can’t be the only ones?

It sounds as if it's an allergy.

Not 'normal' and maybe you are too sensitive to the gel?

I've used it for 11 years and never had any issues like that and I have very sensitive skin (used to have bad eczema.)

I’m not normally allergic to things but I’ll keep going with the HRT and hope it isn’t that.
