Is this usual after a three month gap ?

Yes because you have 3 months of blood to get rid of.

PineappleFwitters · 30/06/2019 17:51

I'm experiencing just the same @ladypenelopeplum Sad I've gone a few months between periods before but it's never lasted this long.

ladypenelopeplum · 30/06/2019 18:00

Thanks Jingling I was concerned it might be something else because after the last three month gap it was still only three days. PIneapple I hope yours finishes soon, thankfully mine has at last.

It's part of peri menopause for many women. If the bleeding becomes unbearable or you might be anaemic, see your GP for treatment.

PineappleFwitters · 01/07/2019 07:35

@ladypenelopeplum How long did yours take in the end? It's been 17 days for me with still no sign of letup. Basically I feel like I've been on day 2 of my period for the last week!

ladypenelopeplum · 01/07/2019 09:43

15 days. Last time this happened it still only lasted a couple of days.
The last few days were stop-start though - very irritating.

I had the opposite. Very stop start for the first week and then heavy afterwards. I'm only 42, I feel I'm too young for this shit!

ladypenelopeplum · 01/07/2019 10:53

I'm ten years older than you so I guess it's to be expected. That said I did have really heavy periods when I was your age but they soon got lighter - last month was an exception.
